Blog 1103: Again... and again... and again!

May 2004.
Beginning of 2nd year summer vacations.

Me and Pandey are frust of trying to get projects in the department for the summers.
Last resort: Prof. D. K. Gupta.
If he doesn't give us a project, we're going home.

Go to his office.
He isnt there.
Frust.
Go to hall.

Go back to his office after an hour.
He isnt there.
Frust.

Go to Department office.
Ask office guy: "Dada, does Prof. DKG ever come to his office these days?"

Man standing by the side:" Why? What happened?"
*silence*
Man standing by the side: "I am DKG."
"Oh... hehe"

25th Jan, 2006
10.30 am

Information Retrieval class.
Class not yet started.
Lights off.
Some lady working the projector into action.

I felt she's an M. Tech.
Decide to ask in Bengali.
Me: "Ekhon information retrievaler class hobe?" (Bengali for "is there an information retrieval class now?")
She: (crisp English) "Yes it'll be held here now"

Ikey comes into class after a while.
Me: "Who's this lady"
Ikey: "Prof. Sudeshna Sarkar"
"Oh... hehe"

25th January, 2006
11.30 pm
Chedis

Me, Krishna and Paritosh having curry.
Sanchayan comes from behind: "Hi Sunny... Manik Sorcar is here... interview lena hai to le le".
Me (absent mindedly and in a hail-fellow-well-met kind of way): "Aaya hua hai??"
Sanchayan: "Yeah... he's standing behind you"
"Oh... hehe"

After a lot of analysis, I conclude the following:
There are only three things wrong in all the above incidents-

Wrong place.
Wrong time.
Wrong move.

And Prof. Sudeshna Sarkar as MTech (didi)??? :O

After a lot of analysis, I conclude the following:
There is only ONE thing wrong in all the above incidents-

You are getting OLD

(Galti se ek comment delete kar diya. Nothing derogetory)

I will go with Sagar.... may be the "monotonous maths dep courses" are taking a toll on you... aneways whats interesting is how you react to such situations... let us know that?

@ Tidu:

Hmm...

case 1)
"Oh sir, I'm sorry, I didnt know who you were. We've been coming to your office for three days but havent been able to meet you. Actually we'd been told by our seniors that you specialize in ... etc etc" :D

case 2)
Nothing to react in this case... Ikey told me this when the class was going on..

case 3)
Me: "OOPS... ummm sorry sir... I didnt see you... *shake hands*"
Manik Sorcar: "Thats okay thats okay"
And by then Sanchayan starts with my introduction... so... peace :)

@ Nishant:

Tree style?!

Naah not permanent... this just seems to be the most convenient style when I'm narrating any event.
