Exactly what the motive behind making Paheli was is a paheli to me! Its such a run-of-the-mill story with a monumentally pathetic ending. For starters, how believable is it that a girl will fall in love with a ghost ??( i dont like that concept anyways...as it is, alive men have trouble changing their 'single' status!). And what was Big B doing at the end with those three tests?? I mean, " the real love of rani mukherjee will enter the water bag" is a test?? And the great spirit willingly flies into it just to prove his love?? prove to whom?? and whats this damned fascination filmmakers have with getting spirits trapped in bottles ( or bags , in this case)...i mean a spirit that can do tons of supernatural stuff and can get in a bottle cant get out of it?? WHAT CRAP!! YUCK!!
No humour in the film, no real drama except the time when the actual hubby comes back, no thrill, no good music ...no nothing...and this from SRK! C'mon ppl...Amol palekar, SRK and Amitabh Bachchan come together in a film and what comes out is a something that would have befitted mithun chakraborti. Ah well...his films at least contain make-believe drama!
