Blog 801: My dil goes mmm ... mmm .... mmmm!

Man it feels nice to sit in my room right now...

I dont know what smell it is thats wafting around now... and I dont want to know... just whatever it is... its great! Am half afraid it may be some insect's smell from outside... or the smell of Brut.. but whatever it is.. I'm loving it...

There was a time when the smell of the earth after a rain used to be something I cherished... then came this revelation that the smell was caused by bacteria in the earth acting on something or the other and emitting this smell!

Duhh... kahaan woh romantic si feeling aati thi after a rain... standing by a balcony and just letting the feeling soak in.. kahaan yeh science ka funda...

Ignorance is bliss.. honestly..

Have been trying to blog lately... never really got the tempo...

Lots of things have been happening .. the Careerz fest for example.. had a double interview in one day... Mr. Sandipan Deb and Mr. Partha Sinha. Both Kgp alumni.. the former is the ex-editor of Outlook and the latter is an advertising bond..

Both interviews with Rolly... and both very satisfying... the second one immensely so...
In fact, we interviewed Partha Sinha in Chhedis! His wish actually...

Can u imagine a guy of such credentials having tea in a roadside chai-ki-dukaan? Man... nostalgia rules... anyday anytime...

His interview never really was an interview... it turned into a senior-junior bhaat session within 5 mins of taking off! This was.. easily.. the best funda session I've had with any 'senior' in the last 3 years..

I asked him what his reasons were for switching from engg to management. His reply.. "more money in that job!"
I asked..."dont the interviewers know that everyone of us who switches is doing so for money?" His reply (smiling), " they do.. its only a test of how well u can sugar coat!!"

That was the kind of candidness there... no mincing words!

I wish I could share with you everything he said.. but I wasnt writing at all! Me was just listening [:D]

Anyways... two very happy moments for Schol Ave in this last week...
The first was when we went to meet the Dean of Alumni Affairs for some work...

We said, " Sir, we're from the campus newspaper... blah blah"
He looks at us and raises his eyebrows," campus newspaper?"
We: " Sir, Scholars Avenue.. we had come to you earlier..."
He: (cutting us short) " Haan say Scholars Avenue.. whats campus newspaper!!"

Second incident was when we went to meet Partha Sinha first up at Tech Guest House...
We'd just entered and mentioned who we were... turned out.. we didnt need to introduce the paper... he'd already heard of us !!

Okay I realise this is turning into a publicity brochure for Schol's Ave [:D]
Hmm... change of topic...

Yeah.. whats this sudden love people have found for hindi fonts and crap... Find ppl's name in Orkut in hindi... now ppl's blogs have started carrying hindi...

Not that I'm anti-hindi or something.. but it sure feels bad to be reminded how pathetic my hindi is !!
Anyways.. badhiya hai!! ("waah Sunil babu" Asian Paints ad style mein!)

Another thing... mobile phones really have pervaded our lives like anything... dunno why but this realisation has struck me really hard of late..

I mean... wherever you go you'll find these dumb stupid things... and whats worse... they'll all be carrying a mobile in their hands [:D]
